Brainsss....

... Or intestines, maybe? I don't know, these definitely don't look like brains, but I'm not totally sure what they *do* look like! To get this look, I followed Robin Moses' tutorial which can be seen here. She is the tutorial guru and I'm sure that if you follow her instructions you'll turn out with a better set of brains than I did! A problem that I have with nail art is that I'm not really that good at art -- I mean, I can copy things just find but when it comes to doing something more free form like brains I'm not always the best at figuring out how to make it look good. I hope this gets better with practice!

Anyways, another brains related post that you should check out is Michelle aka Sonoma Bento's Hello Kitty Halloween nails.  Michelle and I are both huge fans of Robin Moses (let's be honest, who isn't), so when Michelle saw Robin's tutorial she always knew she had to turn it into something new and creative! Michelle's take on the design is AWESOME!

Also, I may not post anything tomorrow BUT there's a good reason why. The post that I was going to do tomorrow is so awesome, so incredible, so magnificent, that I hate to post it on a Sunday (which is the day I get the least traffic). The post is the nails you've all been waiting for: my ACTUAL Halloween nails. And let me tell you, they are some of my favorite nails EVER!  So, I promise if there is no post tomorrow it is well worth waiting until Monday!!!

Moses' Marbleizing

These are done with Robin Moses' marbling without water technique. I had tried marbling without water before and it never turned out. After watching Robin's video I tried using a small paint brush instead of the toothpick that I was previously using. It made all the difference! Now I use an old brush so I don't have to worry if it gets a little gooey.

Fun Balls

So I got really tempted to title this post "Robin Moses' balls" and then I giggled like a ten year old for about 15 minutes. Yes, I am that immature sometimes. This cute ball design was inspired by Robin Moses, one of the all time best nail artists ever. If you have not seen her work before then GET OFF MY BLOG and go find her! I'll even make it easy for you, just click right here. Do it. Now.

hahah balls.

Sunday the 25th...

... As opposed to Friday the 13th, which is one of my favorite slasher films (which is saying a lot, being that 1980's slasher films are probably my favorite genre). These nails were inspired by Robin Moses who does amazing video tutorials to supplement her amazing nail art. It is my assumption that everyone knows of this goddess of nail design, but if you don't, you should definitely check her out here. She is the entire reason that I have the ability to add any type of depth to my nail art. I'm not naturally a good artist (you should see what happens when I try to draw a nail design before painting it), so her ability to break down the steps completely inspired me to keep trying. I guess you could say, I owe it (almost) all to her! Also, while you're checking stuff out, definitely watch Friday the 13th. But don't watch Robin's videos at the same time as you're watching the movie... that would just be confusing.
