Eyeballs

There is something about how eyeballs look on nails that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.  My most common nail design is problem different attempts at eyeballs and these are some of my favorites! The first thing that I love about these is the semi-french tip-ness of them. By this I mean that they don't extend all the way down to my cuticles. That is one of my favorite nail looks. I also really like these because they have a gradient effect (largely this was covered up by the white of the eye, but if you look closely, you can see it). But most of all (as per the picture above), I like these because if you look at them from afar they totally look like Alec Baldwin's finger-tip eyeballs in Beetlejuice!

Skulls and Eyeballs

Every year my friends and I go to a "big" festival called Maryland Deathfest. It's the biggest metal festival in the U.S., but is dwarfed by festivals in other countries. This year it was May 26-29, over 50 bands played, and somewhere in the vicinity of 2000 people attended. I decided that instead of making nails for just one of the bands that was playing (though I would have done Skinless) that I should make a general set of nails for the entire weekend. These are what I ended up with... Skulls and eyeballs. I think it was very fitting!

An Early Valentine's Day

I got a little impatient for Valentine's Day to come, since I realized that holidays are a good excuse to do theme nails, so I think these were done in the first week of February.

Close up of the left hand - Bows

Close up of the right hand - Hearts and a rose (that kind of looks like a smiley face)

Eyeballs on the thumb (because I felt like everything else was too girly for me). Design of the thumb was from Robin Moses.
