Cupcakes!

Mmm... Cupcakes. These nails were requested by a friend of mine who loves cupcakes. I know there are TONS of cupcake nails out there, so I tried to make them at least a little bit different. I love how they look! These are the type of nails that I would totally wear every single day if they didn't make me so hungry!

Hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

Want to see more of my nail art? I did my weekly guest blog over at Polish Art Addiction today! This week I did Candy Candy, a Japanese manga/anime cartoon. Bonus: The nail art includes super cute bows! See my post here

Taco Bell - Take Two

You may remember these Taco Bell nails that I did pretty early on in my nail art "career," you may also know that I love Taco Bell. Taco Bell is my favorite food by far. Yes, I realize it's bad for me. No, I don't think it's real Mexican food. But those things are completely insignificant in the majesty of Taco Bell. I don't know what it is about the food there, but it is just deliciousness wrapped in a tortilla. So I painted these nails to look like the Taco Bell hot sauces that you can add to your food. The yellow nails are the Mild Border Sauce, orange is Hot, red is Fire, and green is a new flavor called Verde. I also painted the bell logo on my thumbs. So, do you paint your favorite food on your nails ever as a tribute? And if so, do you get hungry every time you look at your fingers?

NYC

This was the summer of family and one of my favorite family vacations was when my boyfriend, his parents, one of his sisters, and I went to NYC. Ron and I go there often, so it isn't very exciting for us, but none of his family had been before. We got to take them to the Empire State building, the Statue of Liberty, and eat tons of food! At the end of the vacation I decided that I should do some nails to commemorate the trip. So these are my NYC nails! My right hand said "I *heart* NY" but I can't find a picture of it. Here's the story behind each nail:
Thumb: This was for Ron's mom, Susie. She loves playing Monopoly on facebook, so the "Go" from Monopoly reminds me of her
Index: This was for Ron's father, Vern. He is devout in his Christianity so I couldn't think of anything better to represent him than a cross
Middle: A kitty cat for Ron's sister Bonnye. Every time I ever see anything with a cat on it my reaction is always, "Oh my god, Bonnye would love that!"
Ring: Well, if you're read my blogs a bunch you can probably guess that the hamburger is for Ron. He loves hamburgers. A lot.
Pinky: And of course, I got the hand with painted nails... because let's be honest... I kind of like painting my nails.

The Most Feminine Nails I've Ever Worn

I'm gonna go ahead and believe that these don't need any more information along with them in addition to the title.
(Oh, except I did see this design somewhere but don't have the name to give credit)

Goats and Pizza

For Ron's actual birthday I put the things he loves most (or at least 2 of the 3... I didn't do hamburgers) on my nails. First I did a pizza with a candle on my thumb. Next I had to decide what to do for the rest of the nails so I used the fact that Ron really wants to own goats. He thinks they are the best animal that exist and is perpetually trying to convince me that a goat would be a great pet. I, however, am not an idiot and I know that a goat would eat all of our stuff, poop everywhere, and climb on everything. These are of course significant facts since he wants an indoors goat. So this, Ron, is the closest you will ever get to being a goat owner while I'm around... At least until you convince me otherwise.

Tacos

Another set of nails dedicated to my love of Taco Bell. These were done for Nail Polish Art Addiction's contest "Good Enough To Eat." Which I, of course, did not win. But that's only because there were SOOO many amazing entries. It was a great contest that really showed off a lot of talent. My absolute favorite nails in the contest were Cathy's Vegemite nails, which Leslie (The nail polish art addict) blogged further about at the link.

Bubble Yum

Bubble Yum was one of my favorite childhood candies. I loved the original flavor and hated cotton candy. I recently bought a pack of my favorite gum to see if it was good as I remembered it being. Well, I think that since I was a child my mouth has shrunk because I remember eating an entire piece (sometimes two) at a time and not having a problem chewing it, but man, that is a HUGE piece of gum.

Strawberries

These were some cute little strawberries. Immediately after finishing them I wished I did the leaves differently, I think they turned out too bulky. I used a pale pink on the thumb and ring finger and a deeper red on the other fingers to try to make it more interesting, but I don't think that it was even noticeable.

In-N-Out

Ron is from near L.A. and he loves In-N-Out. Burgers are by far his favorite food and he always laments the fact that he can hardly ever get a good one in Rochester. He thinks that In-N-Out has the BEST fast food burger of all. When we go to visit his family the first stop leaving the airport is always the In-N-Out.

The design on the top picture is taken from The Daily Nail's version of In-N-Out nails. When I saw hers, I knew that she had made the best design and that I couldn't top it. I decided to put the arrows from the logo on my thumbs for something a little different.

Apples

Apple french tips. I saw these somewhere, but I forget where. I thought they were really cute though. I decided to put green apples on my ring fingers (I think the design I saw had red jeweled apples on the ring fingers).

I always love how "french tip" designs look on my nails. When I use the term french tip, I obviously use it in a slightly ambiguous way: I mean that there is a design on the tips of my nails and near the cuticle is completely plain. I do these a lot with animals, but I always think that the french tip designs are BY FAR the best design for me!

Cupcakes

Oh cupcake nail art, how you've invaded the internet. I don't think these are anything too special, but they were my version of the infamous cupcake nails. I don't really understand why I put a cherry on top of the cupcakes or why the cherry looks like a red ball, but that's what happened. These were really fun to wear around because non-nail art people always think they're really cute and unique (nail art people know that they are rarely unique).

Taco Bell!

I love Taco Bell more than any other food. I have gone through many long phases in my life where I have eaten Taco Bell 4+ times a week. And to this day if a week goes by that doesn't have Taco Bell in it, I get a bit crazy. My amazing boyfriend supports my... habit... by driving almost 15 minutes from our apartment to the closest Taco Bell entirely too often. Luckily for him, there is now a Five Guys right next door to the Taco Bell, so he doesn't have to suffer through a million tacos a week.

A little while after I did these nails I when through the achieves of The Daily Nail's posts and saw her AMAZING Taco Bell nails. At some point I might try out her design!

The Real Valentine's Day - Pizza Nails

My boyfriend Ron loves three things a lot: hamburgers, pizza, and goats. Because (at the time) I didn't think I was good enough to take on something as difficult as a hamburger or a goat, for Valentine's Day Ron got pizza nails! Usually for Valentine's Day we go to the movies and eat hamburgers, but this year we got a heart shaped pizza and watched a movie at home. I know, WAY too much variety.
