Invader Zim

I did these nails as a part of the Peculiar Polish series that I'm collaborating on with Leslie from Polish Art Addiction. On my nails I did the main characters of Invader Zim: Zim himself, Gaz, Gir, Gir again, and Dib. I haven't watched too much Invader Zim myself, but from what I've seen it is pretty awesome. One of the things that I really enjoy about it, that is relatively common on good cartoon shows, is that it is really dynamic. By that I mean the camera does a lot of panning and creates really interesting movement. The reason a lot of cartoon shows incorporate this is because it tends to save on animation costs. However I like the look because it creates a lot of interest. Especially in a show like Invader Zim, which requires a little bit more suspense. Changing the camera angle can completely change the tone of a show.

He-Man and She-Ra

These are the awesome He-Man/She-Ra nails that I did as a guest blog for Leslie at Polished Art Addiction. I've been (and will continue to be) guest blogging for her every Thursday, which has been awesome. These are some of my favorite nails that I've painted for her blog, but they didn't get a huge response. I wonder if that's because He-Man isn't so popular now-a-days or if it's because other people didn't like them as much as I do!

You can check out the blog I wrote about these nails here.

Ed, Edd n Eddy

These are some of my all time favorite nails (that I've done). My collaboration with Leslie from Polish Art Addiction, where I am guest blogging some obscure nail art for her, has brought about some awesome challenges. I was really concerned that these nails weren't going to come out good, but like I said, I ended up loving them! I didn't even want to take them off! Along with these nails I did a picture tutorial over at Leslie's blog which you can check out here.

Let me know what you think of these nails and if you have any suggestions for darker or more obscure nails that you would like to see me do, I'd love to hear them!

We're Zany to the Max!

We are the Animaniacs!

I completely stole this design from Leslie at Polish Art Addiction because she is amazing. You can pretty much name any cartoon and she has designed THE BEST nails ever for it. When I saw her Animaniacs nails, I got all nostalgic and couldn't stop myself from wearing them around for a bit! Leslie's nails turned out (a lot) better than mine because, like I said, she has the knack for cartoon characters! I can only hope to one day be as successful at cartoons as she is.

I loved the Animaniacs because they were essentially a slap stick comedy troupe in cartoon form. And, as I think most people will agree, Pinky and the Brain are just amazing.

Where's Waldo?

Yay! Where's Waldo nails! I painted these and then after I was done I looked up "Where's Waldo nail art" on google and realized that I probably had filed away in the back of my mind Leslie from Polish Art Addiction's version of Where's Waldo nails.

Here I made Waldo's shirt and pants, then painted his face and made him give a little wave. I accidentally put his thumb on backwards (whoops). But my favorite nail is my thumb which is the logo that is usually on the inside cover of the books, sometimes it's on the actual cover as well. I was really proud of the lettering, which if you notice how short my nails are, is really small!
